Let’s start by saying that this is a good, solid serial killer
Synopsis
The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and then again in the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and prompted Lionsgate to scrap its planned sequel, Double Cross. show.
So I’ll leave that aside
However, I think Luther’s poor cousin in the UK is Idris Elba. He and Cross both have extraordinary psychological analysis skills. You get that with Luther.
You don’t with Cross
There are only two times out of 8 episodes when he’s all “Spideysense” and gives analysis that others just don’t see. Then there’s the lackluster acting in some of the big roles. Their scenes just don’t do justice to the great acting from the main characters.
And the final point is Iasiah Mustafa
He’s the spitting image of Andy Farrell, the Irish rugby coach, in this show. One is a black guy, the other is a white guy, but boy, the resemblance is uncanny! It’s an enjoyable show, but I think Luther does it better.
